| Why On-Line Coaching? |

Many people wonder; - Why should I have a coach? Most people, including coaches, do a poor job of coaching themselves. It is very difficult for anyone to be objective and honest about themselves. You need that voice of reason as you train, to identify your strengths, to let you know where you can do better, and to do the research and legwork to develop systematic and methodical training methods and progressions which will allow you to develop and obtain your goals. Coaches have more reference sources plus the experience of what works best for developing athletes. You will not find professional athletes who do not have their own personal coach. Do you think Lance Armstrong needed a coach to tell him how to ride a bike? - How does on-line coaching work? On-line coaching works just like personal coaching; the only difference is your coach is not present when you train. Your coach is present to evaluate your performance and adjust as necessary your training plan. Just like my previous Lance example, do you think Chris Carmichael rode with Lance during all of his training rides? On-line coaching begins with an assessment. Through the forms we have you fill out, recent race results, and assessment tests we may prescribe, we develop a fitness baseline for you for your chosen field of exercise. With this information in hand, we listen to what your goals are. Remember, you are the boss. What is important to us is what YOU are wanting to achieve. We will take your baseline assessment and your goals and we will give you an honest assessment of where you are at and what you need to do to accomplish your goals. We will then develop a training plan for you to follow. You will log onto this website to receive your training plan, and you will follow up with your coach by logging your performance in the training log when you are done. Your coach watches your performance daily. Your coach may contact you for more information and will adjust your training plan as you go reflecting on your performance. This is not a one-size-fits-all, fixed training plan approach. You can expect more contact with your coach than you would a personal fitness trainer you hire at a gym. You may call your coach at anytime you have a question. We are here for you, pure and simple. - How can on-line coaching make me better? Accountability. Even though your coach is "on-line", you can expect daily accountability between yourself and your coach. He is always watching, always considering if adjustment to your training plan is necessary. He is always considering your goals and how to get you there. He is your personal assistant in a fitness world.
On-line coaching does work. You have the benefit of a coach at your call without having to pay the cost of having him "there".
